Wow, Penn is no longer a mid-major, but is now a "low-major."

I can see the press releases nest year: "Penn is the #2 ranked bottom-feeding school in the country."

I can't believe you missed that last softball. 2006-2007 will be the worst season for the Ivy League in the last 30 years. Is it any wonder why they are now deemed a low-major.

Actually, their criteria for low majors are one bid conferences. So while Penn and Princeton may be mid majors, we continue to need some more support from the rest of the league for the conference to be a mid major.

The WCC is very frequently a one-bid conference, yet Gonzaga isn't considered a low-major?

I am not agreeing with their point of view, but clearly the zaga could not get the automatic bid and get a 2nd bid for their conference while that is not true for the ivies.

That's not their definition though. Their definition is a conference that usually has a good chance for multiple bids, and I'm not sure the WCC qualifies. I don't really care what we're considered to be honest. There are low and mid major teams in high major conferences. Plus, as was pointed out on the Bucknell thread related to this ranking, there are all sorts of ridiculous aspects to their rankings.
