Okay, can we please end the "Jan deserves to start" experiment. There was a clear difference with Zoller in the game. Why risk starting out slow. And they especially need Jan off the court if they want to run and finish on the break. If anything, I liked seeing him in with Zoller and Danley, as he truly is a 3.

Let's give Jan some credit. His opening three got us off on the right foot. Falling behind right out of the box might have been fatal for this team given their last two efforts.

Our back-and-forth on the old board wasn't over whether Jan deserved to start, it was whether Jan deserved to play. I thought he does, still do. Even when Jan was starting he was only playing 13 minutes a game, which are essentially sub minutes.

Tonight, Jan played the first 5:34 when he came out for Zoller, Penn down three. He came back at 8:43 Penn down 6 in a new three-forward lineup with Jan now playing the 3-spot. He played 2:20 as a small forward and Penn picked up a point. He then didn't start the second half and played about three minutes in the second half, two of them when the game was long decided.

Tonight Zoller played very well but there will be a game when he may struggle and you'll need Jan to go out there and do something besides wait for the coach to yank him.

I think the team is SIGNIFICANTLY better with Mark on the floor, but agree with Howard that Jan will need to contribute at some point and, therfore, ti is important to keep him in the flow and keep his head in the game now.

Also, Coach is clearly still feeling his way through this team, and the rotation is far from set.
