I don't know if anyone heard this mentioned on the post-game, but Pat's Dad, Jack Flannery, passed away late Monday after being in poor health for some time. At one time, he played for St Joes and then in the old Eastern Basketball League.
May he rest in peace.

From Dave Jones:
Jack Flannery led Saint Joe's in scoring in 1944 before World War II called him. He played for an army championship team at Fort Bragg and then the Pottsville Packers of the Eastern League in the late '40s and early '50s.
His son, 49, spoke after last night's game with red-rimmed eyes and the face of a man who has lost not just a father but a dad:
"He was a tough guy. A hell of a good guy.
"Wherever I've been, my dad's always been with me. He worked long night-shift hours [as an engraver for the Pottsville Republican and Reading Eagle] and couldn't make all of my games. But he saved up vacation time and came to most of them when I came to Bucknell.
"When he was older, he still always knew the score and everything that happened. He could be in a hospital bed and know everything about our games.
"He wasn't a big talker, not one who would jump me or anything. Just the kind of guy who you knew he was going to be there to support you.
"The kind of guy that, if I could make my dad happy, that's all I wanted."
