I can think of ways I might prefer to open league play other than on the road at the Ps.

Maybe getting this tough road trip out of the way early may have the opposite effect. You won't have to make the trip later when that trip tends to stop momentum.

I agree. 3-4 losses could win the league this year, even losing both games at the P's won't knock you from the race. I'd much rather have them coming into my house later on when it could mean a ton.

Good point, I think. If Brown can somehow scrape together a win on this trip, that will be a very nice start to this season. I do wish the freshmen had a chance to get their feet wet in the league before this road trip, however.
My concern is the long layoff - they won't have played a real game against different players in two weeks! That's a long time to be off the court, and I think makes it harder to have to warm up on the league's two most difficult road courts to play in.
I wonder if, in situations like this, Miller can arrange a scrimmage against one of the local D2-D3 teams to mix it up for the team some.

I think there's an NCAA limit on scrimages and when.

I guess opening against other teams could go two ways Bruno. A sweep vs. the C's would get some great momentum. However, losing a game to one of the C's could really dig a hole heading into a weekend at the P's, and be far more demoralizing than losing a game (or even two) at the P's.
Plus, just think what kind of boost this team would get should they pull off a game this weekend? They must think they can beat the P's, especially at home, after the last two years.
