That strikes me as awfully high, particularly since quality out-of-conference wins have been scarce. I seem to remember the league in the low to mid 20s over the last few years. Anyone know what's behind this surge?

I'm just guessing, but perhaps it has something to do with Princeton's 29th overall ranking in the RPI.

Probably a greater factor is that Dartmouth is the only Ivy squad that's a real RPI clunker to date.
No-one else is worse than 250--probably not too many years that claim could be made at this point in the season.

Tougher schedules are also a big part of it. Penn, Princeton, and Yale all are in the top 70 toughest schedules, and H, Cor, and D are all in the top 212. Columbia and Brown have played easy schedules, but they've made up for it by winning a decent number of games.

The quality of the opposition helps, but there's something else at play this year.
It's also the new RPI formula discussed in a thread a few months ago which factors in the location of the game.
By and large, Ivy teams haven't lost a ton of home games this year...and when they do their opponents are sometimes decent ones. Combine that with a decent number of away and neutral victories this year (particularly by Ivies who haven't done this so much in the past), and you get your #17 conference ranking.
