I had the great pleasure of watching Joe DeMayo work on Fri. He has not improved with age. The rest of the crew, Fran Connolly and Frank Scagliotta, didn't do much to distinguish themselves either. They were equally bad on both ends, so the outcome of the game was not effected. At one point there was a major scrum under the basket, with Brown blocking 3 or 4 consecutive shots and 4 or 5 players ending up on the floor, no calls. DeMayo spent most of the game, while running the sideline with the clock running, conversing with the Ref supervisor who was seated at press table. How good can the calls be if you have to explain them? At one point he called a T on Mark MacDonald for commenting about a non-call, chewed MacDonald out, then for some reason gave the T to the Brown bench. Connolly and Scagliotta spent the timeouts flirting with Harvard's trainer who brought them water and giggled alot. The whole thing was bush. We used to get better Refs on Fridays when ther weren't many other games around.
