I just though I'd add a tidbit from Friday's game... Bruno mentioned this in one of his posts, and I though I'd share my impressions having been at the game.
Within the first 2 offensive possetions Sam was in for, he set a wicked screen that freed Forte for a three, set another outstanding screen and then rolled to the hoops for an 'and-1' when Andrew Naeve switched on the screen. In short, his play was immediately noticeable and he was so effective that as a Cornell fan I was perplexed but happy when he was removed for the game.
Looked to me like he has a very bright future.

he played 2 minutes at columbia. Basically, he got the ball down low, rammed his body into Preston (no call), missed a shot, got his own board, missed another shot, and that was it. somewhere he got another board and a foul.

I think Sam is an impact player on the blocks. However, I don't think he's particularly comfortable in the offense (as a big man in Miller's offense, you need to handle the ball top of the key, set screens, and pass), and that's clearly very important to Miller. I think coming into the season out of shape likely put him into the doghouse, and some other guys have vaulted ahead of him.
Personally, I'd like to see Sam play more. If nothing else, he'll get to the line, and force the defense to converge down low.
