Lehigh embarks on its 29 game (minimum) hoop journey Saturday as the Mountain Hawks travel 176 miles north to Ithaca to take on the Ivy League’s pre-season #1 pick (rivals.com), Cornell. All in all, a fair match-up and good opening day test.
Jeff Sagarin seems less impressed with The Big Red and has tabbed them to finish 4th among the Ivies, grading out at #224 among the nation’s 341 D-1 teams. In fact, it you subscribe to the Sagarin methodology, you might conclude that Lehigh – except for its Nov. 23rd date with the Terps, should find itself right at home throughout the OOC and PL campaigns.
