Harvard looked pretty good. They played better defense and got some huge boards. Michigan didn't seem on top of its game.

What a crazy league. Cornell loses at home to a Colgate team who lost to Dartmouth at home. Yale loses at home to Wagner. Harvard may now be the team to beat with Brown a close second.

I'm not sure one win/loss should be the judge of any Ivy team. Only one team above .500 at this point, and the competition hasn't generally been that unwinnable. Great win for Harvard, but I'm not sure I would use this as a precursor for Ivy play.

Yes yes. Let's not go crazy by giving props to any team for a big conference win.
This is a great win on many levels - great for the league, great for the coach, great for the players. Brown lost this same game by 15, and I think Brown's going to be pretty good this year in the Ivy, so I'd call Harvard pretty tough, capable of being up there, without a doubt.

Brown's second game was at Ann Arbor.

Like I said: when did Brown host Michigan? It's not the same game depending on where it's played (there's a reason the RPI was adjusted to acknowledge this). I bet the Bears would salivate at the chance of getting this particular Michigan team in Pizzitola rather than in Ann Arbor. It's a great win for Harvard, and I hope we see more BCS teams travelling to tiny Ivy gyms in the future despite this result. It only benefits the league as whole if it happens.
(In fact, wouldn't be surprised if we see more - when even Syracuse is scheduling real road games before Big East season begins you know BCS coaches are listening to the selection committee's mantra on going on the road, and some of them may think the best way to do that is not to play George Mason or Butler but aim at supposed "cheap" road wins against the Ivies and below.)

Massive props to Harvard for winning. It is great for the league. Never meant to imply otherwise.
I'm simply saying one win does not point anything out about the Ivy season. The conclusion that winning over Michigan at home equates to competing for the championship glosses over some of Harvard's needs. I'm not sure any team is a hands down favorite right now.
