You've got to be impressed with what Coach Reed has been able to do so far (5-5 record) with what I'll call the youngest team in the PL. How young? Try......

1 senior on roster (league average: 3 per team)
1 senior in starting lineup (league average: 1.9 per team)
3 juniors on roster (league average: 4.5 per team)
14 sophomores and freshmen on roster (league average: 7.75 per team)

At the other end of the scale, you have Colgate (6-4 record with 5 seniors - all but one start each game) and American (7-5 record with 2 seniors, 1 of whom starts). That said, the Eagles count on the experience 9 juniors bring to the arena each night. Other senior-laden teams include: Lafayette (8-3 record with 4 seniors / 3 starters) and Army (6-5 record with 4 seniors / 2 starters). The other league entries (Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Navy) report rosters more in line with league averages. There are 122 roster players in the PL this year...... 24 seniors (19.6%), 36 juniors (29.6%), 30 sophomores (24.6%), and 32 freshmen (26.2%).

Talk about being restless and chomping at the bit, the players will be coming off the longest Exam/Holiday break of any team in the PL - 20 days. Please, let us not count last night's 99-48 Exhibition win over Briarcliffe. After all, there is just so much turkey a guy can eat, not to mention visits to grandma's house and the telling of tales about the dramatic comeback win over Harvard to close out the early part of the season. The players have had time - way too much time - to read about Lafayette's rise in the standings (now 8-3) and their two most recent wins over Towson and Mount St. Mary's, not to mention American's surprising upset win over Maryland, the on again/off again Bisons of Bucknell, and the nearly invincible Crusaders of Holy Cross who, after an 18 day lay-off, let one slip away at Siena. It's time to play ball.

See you at Stabler Friday night as the Mountain Hawks finally return to action hosting Monmouth. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
