The Standings:
BU 3-0
LC 3-0
AU 2-1
Navy 1-2
LU 1-2
CU 1-2
Army 1-2
HC 0-3
On Thursday morning, someone will sit atop the league (BU or LC) at 4-0. Lehigh, with a win on Wednesday at home against Colgate, will find itself in a no worse than 4th place tie. Were HC to win (they host Navy on Wednesday), they could find themselves in a four way tie for 5th place, if things break just right.
Conference RPI:
The Patriot League ranks 20th (32 conferences judged)
Home Sweet Home:
Three teams (LU, HC, and Army) have yet to win at home while three others (LC, BU, and AU) have yet to lose at home. LU, HC, and Army – each playing in friendly surrounding on Wednesday - hope to rectify that problem.
Road Warriors:
Barely two weeks into the season, five teams have posted a road win. In fact, Lafayette has turned the trick twice in as many games. In a league that many say is up for grabs, this could be the key stat to watch throughout the season.
Heartless:
Holy Cross, plagued by injuries and everyone’s pre-season choice, is winless @ 0-3 with two losses coming at the Hart Center.
Bison Stampede…..better stop them now:
Should BU get the best of Lafayette on Wednesday in Easton, they’ll return home @ 4-0 and have a good chance to go 7-0 to close out the first half of the PL calendar with home games against CU, LU, and Army. The schedule turns against them later in the campaign with 5 of their last seven on the road including CU, Navy and AU in a seven- day stretch.
The American Way:
With two of their first three games played on the road, you’ve got to be impressed with AU’s stats (League games only).
