I am hoping that John Baumann will be very angry at losing at home versus Cornell and will take it out on the Yalies. I'm looking for Baumann to make Ross Morin and Matt Kyle very tired and sore going into Saturday's game with Cornell. But Yale is talented and deep. How come Coach Jones hasn't won more Ivy titles with all the talent he's had over the years?

Yale seems to go with a big and rugged lineup, which is good for Columbia because their guards are slow. Cornell could counter Yale's big lineup with lanky wings like Jason Battle and Geoff Reeves off the bench if height becomes an issue. Yale's Zampier is statistically effective with his time off the bench. This is far from The Eric Flato Show. This team is deep. Could be a long weekend for the C's.

Cornell's fouls and turnovers are too high but its foul shooting, 3-pointers and defensive stops are compensating (so far) for these deficiencies. Let's hope that continues against Yale or, better yet, Cornell curtails the errors. Even with Columbia's success tonight, this could again prove the perennially difficult game in New Haven that it has been in the past.

What happened to Matt Kyle? He wasn't in the box score. That's a big loss.

The Yale write up says that Yale was 'without Matt Kyle' but did not elaborate.

Kyle scored 4 points, had 2 RBs in each game against Columbia last year.
