Beginning on Saturday the 23rd and ending 7 days later, on March 1st, every team but one will suit up and play three games. AU, presently atop the standings, is the exception. February 23rd is the "extra" date - a day on which CU, BU, and HC compete in Bracket Buster games while LU/LC and Army/Navy renew ancient rivalries. Some might argue there's no advantage to having a light work week in the days leading up to the Playoffs. Coming at the end of a grueling 28 game schedule, I would argue it can't hurt.

A bigger concern might well be the rigors of travel associated with play during the final week of the season. It's hard to believe it won't have some affect on the final standings and therefore the playoff pairing. Once again, AU is looking good.
