Game Notes are up for tonight's game......

Each team enters tonight's contest with identical 4-4 records and sits tied for 4th in the league standings behind AU (6-3), LC (5-3), and BU (5-4). A Lehigh win tonight combined with a BU win over AU would leave us 1/2 game out of first place with a game in hand on both AU and BU. Of course, the same could be said about 4-4 Navy should they win tonight's tilt at Stabler.

Navy poses a big problem for us in terms of three point shooting. Presently, they rank 1st in the league in the number of 3FG Made per game at 10.75. Lehigh, on the other hand, ranks dead last in defending the three, giving up 42.6% of all deep balls taken against them.
On the other side of the coin, don't look for Lehigh to launch many threes of their own. Our "made" number per game of 3.75 is last in the league. A quirk in the numbers show Lehigh attempts about the same number of threes that Navy makes each game,10. It could be a long night for the Mountain Hawks unless we're able to guard deep, often 2-5 feet behind the line.

The top Midshipmen scoring threats are Greg Sprinks, Chris Harris and Kaleo Kina who combine for 59.2 ppg or 74% of the team's total output. Greg Sprinks, sure fire Player of the Year Candidate, is something to watch. Here's a look at his per game numbers through 8 PL Games Played:

Scoring Average: 25.1 (1st in League)
Rebounds: 6.2 (4th in League)
Free Throw Percentage: .892 (3rd in League)
Assists: 3.38 (5th in League)
3FG Made: 3.12 (4th in League)

How then can we win this one? Besides defending the three like never before, our hopes rest on play beneath the basket as Carrington, White, Anderson, and Gorlay take to school (hopefully) their Freshman Center, Veazey, while matching rebound for rebound and block for block with their other big man, 6'8" Junior Forward, Brian Richards. Let's hope our 8-2 home record is a factor as well as Navy's erratic play (since the start of PL Play, Navy as alternated L's with W's). If the trend continues, it's time for a Navy "L."

All-Access @ 7pm tonight!
