Anyone know if anything is being organized for pre/post game? Am actually thinking about going to this, mostly because it's so convenient to get to (90 miles from nearest airport), and because my wife thinks it's such a good idea.

Hey, Penn people's advice on Ivy stuff is limited mostly to basketball, not how to be married, but I know I'd save my wife's permission slip for at least a 2nd round or semi-final game. As my buddy said, if there isn't going to be a 2nd round game, then you won't be disappointed you missed the 1st round.

As someone who has travelled to a number of Penn first round losses, go to the game. Brown will sponsor some kind of party afterwards. If its after a win, what could be better. Even if its a loss, you have reason to celebrate this team's accomplishments.

NCAA tournament is different, a win in the 1st round is about the best it gets for any Ivy, plus Brown hasn't been in the NCAA for a while.
But I'm telling you, Brown's going to the semis, and as soon as I get a group of degenerate gamblers to start a CBI pool, I'm going to take a lot of money off of them with that prediction.

Or worse comes to worse, on the main commercial drive in Athens, there are about 20 bars competing for the cheapest pitcher. You'll probably want a few either way.
The Ohio U campus is surprisingly nice, having been modeled on the Ivies, from what I recall. It has a nice central quad and a lot of greenery around it, mostly caused from the re-routing of a river that used to run through campus but now is a grassy open space.

I'll be watching from the not-so-cheap $7 online seats.
Kind of a kick in the junks that all of the NCAA games are streamed for free, but this startup tournament demands a premium.

It's just that I feel responsible, being the only Brown hoops fan I know that would actually cross a state line and pay for a flight to see the team play a post-season game... if I don't go, who will?
I was the only one in this category - other than some Brown students at the time - who went to the NIT game in 2003 at UVA.
I cannot figure out if this makes me cool or lame. (For illustration purposes, I am going to go with cool.)
In the end, the 90 minute drive from the Columbus airport and having to change meetings Tues PM and Weds AM is going to keep me from going. But, sigh.

Bruno, sorry to hear that you won't make it...but your philosophical lame/cool debate with yourself reminded me of one another one of those lame/cool debates amongst the greatest philosophers or our time that should help you settle it once and for all:
Homer: So I realized that being with my family is more important than being cool.
Bart: Dad, what you just said was powerfully uncool.
Homer: You know what the song says: "It's hip to be square."
Lisa: That song is so lame.
Homer: So lame that it's... cool?
Bart and Lisa: No.
Marge: Am I cool, kids?
Bart and Lisa: No.
Marge: Good. I'm glad. And that's what makes me cool—not caring, right?
Bart and Lisa: No.
Marge: Well, how the hell do you be cool? I feel like we've tried everything here.
Homer: Wait, Marge. Maybe if you're truly cool, you don't need to be told you're cool.
Bart: Well, sure you do.
Lisa: How else would you know?
