Brown has but one player in both the Senior and Junior class. It seems to me that this high attrition rate is excessive compared to the other Ivies. Anyone have any ideas on why this is so?

I think that is high altho I don't have a good feel for the reasons why or the drop out rates at other schools. Penn certainly has had some drop outs -- a highly thought of freshman left the team this fall and he was seeing playing time. I do feel that the Penn attrition rate is less than the one you cite for Brown however. Perhaps the key reasons could be disillusionment, lack of playing time or academic pressures.
