Both teams should be sharp and well-rested for tomorrow. Either Davis or Mavraides MUST be hitting from outside. Other than that, if we can keep it close down to the wire, I'll take our defense, experience and X-Factor (Maddox) for the win.

Nervous but pretty confident here. I have a feeling that the Tigers figured out Wright toward the end of the last game without having to leave Harvard's perimeter shooters too much room. I also like our guys psychologically if the game is close--Harvard's best chance is to jump on us early and pile up a big lead.

But we'll see.

SJ has been playing Barrett, Bray and Hazel a bit more in recent games - tonight Barrett got 13 mins and Bray 17. I suspect this has been part of a deliberate strategy to have a longer bench for the Harvard game. With Maddox, Darrow, Bray and Barrett, the rotation is 9 players. Harvard basically plays with 6 - only Rivard off the bench. If the game stays close and both teams play tough defense, the longer rotation may help in the last 5 minutes, as fatigue takes its toll.
We'll see.

Turns out that Harvard pretty much played only six players tonight - tomorrow they might not be that well rested ...

I agree with both of you guys. If we can avoid a big early deficit, I'll feel a lot better as the game wears on.

And the bench could definitely be the difference maker. Bray, Barrett, Darrow, and Hazel have provided very good defense all season, but have mostly been major offensive liabilities. If a couple of them can also make buckets, then that would be HUGE.

Not very stressful game action, though. A lot of hot jump-shooting and Casey only played 22 minutes.

Bray had a nice offensive game, 4-5 for 9 points and 4 offensive rebounds. Barrett hit a 3 and 2 FTs. He looks like he's getting more comfortable on the offensive end. Better late than never, though the atmosphere tomorrow may rattle him more than the Dartmouth crowd tonight.

No chance they shoot this way again tomorrow. Mix in the coaching x-factor and I will be loading up on a Princeton team getting points.

Harvard's shooting percentage tonight was ridiculous: 60% from the field, almost 50% from 3, and 100% from the free throw line. I sure hope the Tigers can do something to bring those numbers down.

Wow. That's some strong optimism coming from a Penn fan! I think it's going to be down to the wire. Hopefully we can pull it out!

I just don't see any way they shoot as well tomorrow. Mix in Mav's poor shooting tonight, a limping Casey and the fact that your coach owns Amaker and I will be thoroughly surprised if you don't win tomorrow. As much as I dislike the Tigers, (and believe me, only the Mets come close when talking sports) I look forward to order being restored in this league. Amaker doesn't deserve it.

Casey was injured? I thought he was just being rested due to Harvard's unconscious 3-pt shooting.

Nope. Left the game limping at one point. The Penn announcers were quite surprised that he came back in later as he was noticeably still hurting. In all openness this info comes from my dad as I was at dinner and certainly wasn't rushing out when I saw Penn was down 20+, but that was the report.

Hmm, thanks for that tidbit. I guess if he came back it can't be serious, but still a potential tough break for Harvard. Harvard can afford a banged-up guard, but not an injured Wright or Casey.

I had noticed in the last couples of box scores for Harvard that Casey was getting playing time in the low to mid 20s (minutes) and the other starters (Wright, McNally, Webster and Curry) were all playing more than 30. Maybe that has something to do with a lingering sore ankle. It's been a long season.

The truth is that Kyle Casey's season-long numbers are very similar to those from last year. Usually, frosh with a start like his take a pretty big jump the next year.

You can't help but think that the plate in his foot is the culprit. Injuries like his are real and he is only human.

Radio feed dead. Announcers were just saying major problems with electrical wiring in the gym.
