What our troubled world needs now are more athletic supporters. What a guy!

The guy's clueless. He thinks his sin was to 'poke fun' at Princeton. He obviously doesn't realize that his actual sin was that he wasn't funny.

Strange that a Man Of Harvard would be so out of touch.

Perhaps not so strange in the context of a college basketball board. The guy is clearly lost.

To be fair, I know a lot of folks that would post on these boards, but they sorta see this place as a bunch of Penn fans and don't bother.

I disagree. Princeton and Columbia have thriving boards and you don't see either of those boards intimidated by Penn interlopers.

The problem lies with the Harvard board itself, which is a stars-and-scrubs assortment and is in desperate need of retooling its lineup. mrjames has an off-the-chart PAR (Posts Above Replacement) and guys like dzheng and H78 more than hold their own despite low workrates, but then you have too high a percentage of well-below replacement level posters like Cotton and LinLover. The low workrate itself isn't the problem - the Brown and Cornell boards are low workrate but maintain high PAR nevertheless.

I think if Harvard could get higher workrate out of dzheng and H78, then ditch the below replacement posters for a couple of higher PAR contributors, all would be well.

Good point. Though it's late in the season, I'll work harder on my timing and verbal jump shots so I can get in more quality looks and higher PPG.

Thought I'd help put an end to this thread.

After today's game, I'd say that there is very little that's classier than the Princeton basketball team. Go get 'em in the NCAA's, guys.

Classy post H78. Kudos to Harvard for an excellent team and an impressive showing from your fans today. Loud, passionate, even occasionally clever.

But you can't beat TigerBlood! (And don't ever rush the court for clinching a tie again)

You deserve a bid to the tournament.

A really great effort by Harvard, as I posted elsewhere. I really do hope that they get a bid to the Dance. They certainly deserve it. They had us on the ropes for 15 minutes of the 2nd half. Then fatigue, pressure, and the effects of 4 fouls on their two most important interior players set in.
I'm just relieved (and grateful!) that Tommy Amaker, for all the talent he recruits, doesn't seem to know how to use it.

PS Often overlooked Princeton asset: Free throw defense
