Is it possible that Dunphy gave a couple of names to Bilsky on the way out the door? I'm just wondering if he has any kind of influence, given his success and length of tenure.

For what it is worth Dunphy was not one of three names given by John Chaney to TU either and he was at Temple even longer than Dunphy was at Penn. At the end of the day, I think the coaching decision is in the hands of the ADs.

It's not like Dunphy was retiring, that would have been different. We're going to be playing against him. In this case, having the outgoing coach suggest his successor would be like the McClatchy company deciding whom to sell newspapers to based on whom it would rather compete with.
